The total cost is made up of “Design + Approval” expenses depending on the pathway of your approval, plus the cost of materials and the cost of labour. The cost of labour changes whether you decide to arrange individual trades yourself, such as a carpenter, plumber or electrician. Or if you decide to pay a builder directly, understanding there is a ‘Builders Margin’ added to the labour component in the latter case.
